A media brand dedicated to equalizing the cannabis space.
In 2016, OUR DREAM founder Hilary L. Yu set out to launch a purpose-driven media site that offered real transparency — one focused on honest storytelling that highlighted the people who have endured the most and often get the least of the spotlight.
After four years spent consulting cannabis companies large and small, including pro bono consulting for social equity applicants and license holders in California, OUR DREAM saw first-hand how the deficiencies of cannabis legislation disproportionately affect BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ entrepreneurs. It inspired OUR DREAM to make it our mission to work with community organizations to shape justice reform and steward the cannabis industry through community reinvestment programs and social equity workshops.
A non-profit, volunteer-run workshop and mentorship program created to support BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, and independent entrepreneurs in cannabis.
Co-founded by Hilary L. Yu and social equity licensee, Timeka Drew, the 13-week program connects socially-conscious cannabis companies, ancillary service providers, investors, and social equity partners (“SEPs”) through digital “roundtable talks” and one-on-one mentor relationships with experts from across the cannabis supply chain.
OUR ACADEMY is accepting tax-deductible donations as a sponsored project of SIMA Studios, a 501(c)(3) non-profit arts organization that supports creative projects that advance positive social change. For those who wish to contribute to and uplift the communities most impacted by the war on drugs, you can donate to OUR ACADEMY here.
